NWHills UMC believes that children are welcome in worship.  At the 8:50 a.m. worship, those age 3-3rd grade are invited to the choir room for a children’s message during the pastor’s sermon.  They return to receive communion with their families.  At 11:15 a.m., children are invited to the altar for children’s time.  Christian education is the foundation upon which a stronger faith is built, and with the support of 25 teachers for 6 Sunday School classes, children experience the grace of God.    

Infants through preschool age children are welcome at the nursery, particularly during worship.  Childcare is available for any age, upon request, at church sponsored functions.  Requests must be made in advance.  Ms. Jean’s goal is to always provide a safe and fun environment where children are nurtured in their faith.  This is the same philosophy of our ‘My Friend’s House Child Development Center’.  Click here to see their site!

We also take seriously our responsibility to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your children, youth and vulnerable adults. Volunteers undergo an application process that includes but is not limited to a background check. Whenever possible there shall be at least 2 workers assigned to an organized church activity. When only one worker is present they & those they are caring for must be in ratio & visible by either a window or open door.  For additional information see: Policy Statement.
